Music Monday: Bad Religion - Infected

Ahhh, Bad Religion, a favorite band of mine since my high school days. Those were in the late 1980's to solidify that statement. In those days, Bad Religion was another obscure punk rock band to my eyes. I found their music and really liked it, but my corner of Michigan wasn't exactly punk rock mecca.

Like many of the punk bands I got into in the Metal Years, I never really knew how popular Bad Religion was until I moved to California. Out here this band is a part of the daily rotation for a number of the radio station's I listen to between L.A. and San Diego. Out here, despite the glitzy manufactured crap that comes out of the music machine, bands like Bad Religion can still find regular play on the radio, and play live to packed houses. This is because they are good, very good, and there is a crap ton of people who want to hear music like this. Read More!

Music Monday: Love and Rockets - No New Tale to Tell

I'm going to match up with last weeks post and highlight another one that caught my attention during the Metal Years. I have to admit that the band just seemed odd in the video, and this was the first Love and Rockets song that I noticed; but since my favorite bands were in spandex and leather, I didn't have much room for complaint.

When these guys broke big in the states with So Alive, I was lucky enough to catch them live at Miller Auditorium with the Pixies as their opening act. It was money well spent to say the least! Now to go enjoy the rest of my lunch hour.

Evercracked! on IGN

Want to know how all of this got started? Jace Hall makes it easy and fun in a series covering 10 years of EQ over on IGN. It's well done, fun to watch, and I even learned a few things. How do you argue with that kind of value? :)

Music Monday: Wicked Game - Chris Isaak

Music Monday is a good and fun thing that happens over at Twitter every week. People post links to a favorite song or artist. Last night I got to thinking about what I wanted to point to and it came to my mind that a good thing on Twitter with a basic link would be a better thing on my blog with an embedded video. So off we go.

This song really stood out as something different for me back when it was released. The Metal Years were in full roll, and I was right there thrashing my way along. This is something so different that you would think a metal head wouldn't notice, but I was into a lot of different music then, and even more now. What I like about Chris Isaak is that he capture something old and a bit rockabilly in his music, but he does it in a totally modern way. He's also a lot better than just one or two hits, and is worth the cost if you pick up one of his albums.

One thing I'm playing

Heroes of  Gaia, an Asian import that a friend of mine is involved with. It's a strategy game and simple enough. Most of the game involves time based activities so it's something I can check on once or twice per day and see growth without obsessing or cutting deep into my regular cache of games.  Essentially, it requires even less time than most Facebook based games do each day, and is a bit deeper. They are running a recruit a friend special during their open beta, so if you would like to check it out, click the link so I get whatever awesome is involved in it. ;P

Heroes of Gaia is the exciting new game everyone's playing. Registration takes seconds, why not give it a try? Plus, if you sign up, I get additional rewards! Registration Link My name is Elias Remember to come to Titanto see me. Read More!
